Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the lovely girls of The Broke and Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on Your Spring TBR.

I’ve never made a TBR list so I’m not exactly sure how these work… Do I just include the books I own which I want to read or all the books I intend to read but don’t have? This list is is a bit of both, really.
Also I live in India and our seasons are quite messed up. Although it’s spring, we don’t have any flowers blooming or butterflies flying around (At least where I live). It’s really, really hot though! It’s more summer than spring, but anyway, on to the list (which is in no particular order):

1. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Ever since I read the summary, I have been dying to read this book. It sounds like such an intriguing concept. It’s also been a while since I read a dystopian fantasy so I’m looking forward to this!

2. A Darker Shade Of Magic by V. E. Schwab
Again, I heard what this is about and instantly wanted to read it. It sounds so fascinating. I’ve heard only good things about V E Schwab and I want to know what the hype is all about.

3. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
I have this one but never bothered to read it for some reason. Some people seem to really love this book and others absolutely hate it. I loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell so I think I’m going to like this too. 🙂

4. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
I saw this on drizzleandhurricanebooks‘s (read it here) top ten list last week, read the summary and instantly wanted to read it. It sounds a lot like If I Stay which I absolutely adored so I’m looking forward to this.

5. The Boy Book by E. Lockhart
I read The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart and I adored her writing. I’ve been looking for this one, the sequel like FOREVER (2 weeks) and I can’t find it anywhere. BUT I WILL READ IT SOMEHOW.

6. The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon
The much awaited sequel to The Bone Season. I loved that book and I’m eager to dive into the world of clairvoyance again!

7. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Everyone I know is obsessed with this series. It’s about time I delve into this as well. I love fairytale retellings and need to read some more for my fairytale retelling reading challenge which I’m epically failing at right now. I’m excited about this!

8. Just One Day by Gayle Forman
I loved the If I Stay duology by her and am eager to read more from her. One of my friends says that this duology is far better.

9. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
I’ve read this before, in fact, I’ve read the whole series as the books were coming out except Blood of Olympus. I want to read BoO but I don’t clearly remember what happened before it, so I think I’m going to re-read it during spring/summer and then finally plunge into Blood of Olympus.

10. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
I’ve read City of Bones and the Infernal Devices trilogy and am completely ready to immerse myself into the Shadowhunter world again! I got this book yesterday and I’m so excited to start it!!

That’s all for this week! 🙂

  1. I love your list ! So happy you want to read Before I Fall, now, it’s such an amazing book, you’ll tell me what you thought about it! 😀
I only read If I Stay, but I really enjoyed it, maybe I should check out some of her other books!
I’ve heard a lot of positive things about Red Queen, I think I’m going to check it out, too! 😀

    1. Yes of course! 🙂
I’m currently reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman and I quite like it. It’s VERY different from If I Stay though.
Red Queen sounds like such a good book! I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Even the cover is SK pretty!

  2. Well sadly the book she hated ended up to be one of the most popular books ever. Hazel and Augustus are nothing like the teens in our generation. But they are just so adorkable. 😀
PS I love reading your blog posts. They are just so relaxing and it feels like youre talking to me face to face. Your way of writing is so casual and just makes you want to just chill. I ❤ your blog!

    1. Haha yes. 🙂 The way they speak is nothing like other teenagers but I guess that’s one of the many things that makes it so special!
Thanks a lot. I am talking to you! Maybe not face to face but um, computer screen to computer screen? 😉

    1. Our English teacher read the book because a couple weeks before the movie came out, everyone was talking about it and reading it and saying it’s great. She absolutely hated it. She hated that the unlit cigarette was used as a metaphor and a bunch of other things too. She liked Looking for Alaska though!

    1. It’s perfectly normal. I do this too. We had this talk in school about not taking drugs and cigarettes and stuff and when the picture of the cigarette came up, I went, “Oh look, a metaphor!”
      My teacher was not amused.

  3. I absolutely loved Just One Day!! I thought it would be like a cheesy book but the romance is more of a……mystery? It is very different from If I Stay and the ending just left you wanting for more. I still have to read Just One Night. Im not sure if its a book. I think its a novella. IDK.
But you should definitely read it! 😀

    1. I just started it today! Of the seven chapters I’ve read so far, it seems really nice 🙂 My friend told me it ends with a door being closed and the novella is about what’s behind the door. Buuut I have no idea if she meant it literally or metaphorically 😉

  4. I also chose to add A Darker Shade of Magic this week – it sounds absolutely amazing and I love the idea of travelling between alternate universes. I’m 101% sure that’s join to be an amazing read. 😉

    1. I know right? I just read the summary and I was like I HAVE TO READ THIS!! Even Vicious by V. E. Schwab sounds really interesting. I’ve never read anything by her before so I’m really excited for this one 🙂
